What is Christian fiction?

Christian fiction is a collaboration of quality stories based on the heart of God. It is not always set in church or with a churched person as the main character. Most of the time it's a story about an average person who has an average life until he or she has a not so average encounter with God. Whether it is planned or whether it is unexpected, the results will always line up with the word of God-healing,restoration,faith, forgiveness, deliverance, and ultimately, unconditional love.
Sponsored by EnterTo.com the first REAL spam free email

Book release party

Today I'm contemplating my book release party which will be held on Saturday,August 9th. There are many things to be considered when planning one. It can really get quite complicated.
Location is paramount because without a location there can be no party. I wanted a space that was classy yet relatively inexpensive, which was not an easy task. Yet, God was faithful and after weeks of searching, I finally found one in the city of Atlanta.
Next I had to consider my guset list, making sure that everyone knew when and where it would be held. I chose to use digital invitations through evite.com. It was a simple solution for me, with each person on my guest list being notified, and then confirming by email. So family and close friends come first, then my writer sisters, church family, colleagues, and finally casual aquaintances.
Of course there is waiting to see if their invitations have been accepted and then how many guests they will each bring which, inadvertently, adds to the number of guests. This is a number I must really pay attention to, weighing my options adding people to the list when and if they are needed. Quite naturally, I'd like to invite everyone I know but that is just not possible when using a limited space.
The menu is another great concern, whether or not you will serve food, a three course meal, refreshments, or just dessert. I've chosen to do light refreshments and dessert. I didn't want to have the burden of cooking or major catering on that evening. So I'm preparing simple yet tasty finger foods so that my guests aren't hungry. Then I will serve cake, complete with my book cover on it. Now that's exciting.
Decorations are the next thing on my list and my theme of course, is purple, my favorite color since forever. I've already purchased the paper products, with a lavender flower pattern on it. My plan is to have plum and lavender balloons and hopefully fresh lilacs on the tables.
Wardrobe and hair have already been planned. I will wear my favorite purple spaghetti strapped dress with purple stilettos to match. My hair will be prepared by my hairdresser in an elegant style which will complement the outfit. My jewelry, although diamonds, will be conservative because that's who I am.
Finally, there is entertainment and how it fits into the entire program. Now this is probably the hardest part because everything must flow perfectly. Another church sister/event planner will be the mistress of ceremonies and orchestrate everything. So I plan to have programs printed up in lavender, of course. A church sister/writer friend of mine will be over the music. I want a soloist to sing one of my favorite gospel selections. I'll read an excerpt from my book. I also plan to have someone read my auto-biography. I will surely have to make a speech, although I don't really like this idea. I also plan to recite a dramatic poem I've written just for the occasion. Don't ask me where this boldness has come from, but I know it's something I must do. A local bookstore will have a representative present to sell books. Then there will be words from my guests. Finally, I will do the actual book signing as one of the pivotal events of my life comes to a close.
Am I looking forward to it? Absolutely. Am I afraid? No, God has not given me a Spirit of fear. Hallelujiah, I'm rejoicing that the book release is on its way.

Resurrecting Vision

Today I'd like to promote a very special literary work of non-fiction and not because it's my own. The title is resurrecting Vision:45 Steps to Digging Up Your Destiny And Seeing it Through God's Eyes. Instead I'd like to encourage anyone who has a gift that's locked inside them. If you've abandoned all hope, buried your passion, then the following book is for you. Consisting of practical, reasonable steps, the book is for anyone who wants to discover or re-discover his or her dream . If you haven't been truly successful and by that I don't just mean financially, but if you haven't also been happy with what you're doing, then maybe it's because you're doing the wrong thing. Maybe you're going in the wrong direction. Resurrecting Vision speaks to that dream inside you, even to the one you may not know you have, lifts it from the ashes, and nurtures it untill it is fulfilled.
Resurrecting Vision:45 Steps To Digging Up Your Destiny And Seeing yourself Through God's Eyes is on sale for $16.95 and it's available at most online retailers including Amazon.com. Order a copy today and resurrect your own vision. Through God's grace,I've certainly resurrected mine.

What is writing for the kingdom?

Writing for the kingdom of God is an awesome responsibility, but more importantly, it is a divine mandate for those who have been called to do this.
I am not only a writer, but I am an instrument for God's use by which His will may be expressed. I write by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that may sound spooky to some but that's how I live. Yes, I have creative liberty within the context of a particular work, but it is the Lord whoultimately gives me the ideas and the way in which to form them. His words are always better than anything I could think of on my own, and for that, I am grateful.
In the process of creating, I must ask myself if my writing is bringing glory and honor to my heavenly father. My goal, of course,is to bring those outside the body of Christ into this loving family through the radical message of unconditional love. And if I fail to do that then I fail to represent the kingdom .

Writing For The Kingdom
Writing for the kingdom
that’s what we do
steadfast,
creating in servitude
our pens lifted toward destiny
our pens lifted to set us free
We’re empty vessels
holy only by His name
Pour into us, pour into us
and we’ll never be the same
             Pour into us to overflowing
               Pour into us
              Your words we’re sowing
Let even the paper yield to your Spirit
               some won’t listen
              but others will hear it.
                Let our minds connect
                We know what to expect
                Strengthen us, strengthen us
Heal us with your loving touch
We’ll write till the strongholds fall
We’ll write till there are no strongholds at all
It’s an awesome task
but please don’t ask
us why we’re chosen
without His power
we’d be frozen
with fear
but thank God we’re here
writing for the kingdom as we’re called to
Bending to His will and staying true
to the race that’s set before us.
Writing faithfully for the kingdom
Writing till Thy will be done.

Write My Words
Write my words
As I’ve given them to you
Do what my word tells you to do
Be who I say you are
See yourself
As I see you
For some
You’re the only Jesus they’ll see.

“I’ll obey Lord;
Speak through me.”

See through my eyes
Let me speak through you
Let my power
Which is love
Forever be your voice
Speak my words
I’ve given myself
You’re unstoppable now
You’re more than a conqueror
Through me
So be who I told you to be
Send my words to the lost and lonely
I’ll fill the earth with my words
They’ll hear your voice
They’ll hear my heart
Speak my words.
