Overplanning

Are you like me? I like to overplan everything. Right now, I’m into planning my daughter’s move back to Canada. She finishes school around the 8th of December. I've got her resting and packing. 12 days. We're leaving for Canada on the 20th. We're making lists of what she needs to bring back and what she is taking from here, dishes, etc. I’m also making a list of what we will bring back from Canada because we are driving and there are things we can't get here, in Amarillo Texas.

I’m also planning what meals we will prepare for my in-laws when we’re gone. And of course, the best planning of all… the new year. What do I want to accomplish in the new year? I can’t say we because my family thinks I get carried away with my lists. So what if I have a master list telling me where and what all my lists are? At least I'm organized. Well, as long as I don’t forget I have a master list, or where it is, of course. Sometimes I start the same lists over and over again. But I digress.

Why do we like to plan so much? Is it because we like to know what will happen, no surprises? Or is it because in this chaotic world, we like to have some sanity and purpose? Regardless, I have found that no matter how much planning I do, something always comes up to change my plans, therefore my lists.

My husband indulges me. He even encourages me to make lists sometimes. Methinks he's having fun at my expense. Just the other day he said, “Honey, you need to make a list of the television shows we won’t be able to watch in January with everything you have us doing in the evenings.” Ya think?

Sponsored by EnterTo.com the first REAL spam free email

Click Below to discover and share content from anywhere on the web
