Failure to Failure

Between 2002 and 2006, I gave free real estate classes to aspiring real estate agents and loan officers. I offered these free classes in my offices, to “give back” to the community that have supported me and have benefitted from so much. I taught very revealing and insightful, hands-on classes, teaching "from the inside out", as I call it.
I taught on real estate sales, the entire loan process, and most importantly, marketing. For the marketing sessions, I would use anything I can to inspire and motivate the students. I used quotes from anything and anyone. I would read directly from various self-help books, like Anthony Robbins, Napolen Hill, Zig Zigler, and Hyrum Smith, to name a few. I used the Bible a lot. I used quotes from various well-known great people.

But the single quote I used the most? Winston Churchill. Behind my desk, I have a quote hanging on a framed piece of paper that says:

“Success is going from failure to failure without any loss of enthusiasm”

I love this quote for many reasons. One, it focuses on the process, not the destination. It’s always about the journey, isn’t it? Two, it bravely mentions the word “failure”, a word almost taboo in our society. Sometimes you just have to tell it like it is. And then try and try again! And last, any quote that becomes a “driving force” that gets me through the day or a situation, is definitely worth remembering. And this is a quote that doesn’t leave my brain. It is a quote full of hope and faith, in any decision you make, and any direction you take. This is the best definition of “success” I’ve read so far.

For my classes, I put together a manual, both instructional and technical, and very motivational and inspirational. I’ve written many “articles” in between instructions that really assist the aspiring salesperson to see the “bigger picture”. Not only in sales, but in self development as well. Some of these ideas, or “articles” have made it in this “Making It” series.

Probably a couple of hundred people have this manual in their possession. Most of whom urged me to publish it because it is so insightful. I gave a promise to a few people that I would let them know when I get close to the actual book form! I got a call from one of them about a week ago. You just can’t underestimate outside support!

I’ve finalized the outline and contents of the manual, and I’m currently in the process of getting it published. The title of the book?

“Failure to Failure”. An ode to Mr. Churchill’s quote.
Sponsored by EnterTo.com the first REAL spam free email

Click Below to discover and share content from anywhere on the web
